History of DIET, Cuttack

The Govt. S.T. School ,Narasinghpur was established in the year 1973 and was managed in the old palace of Narasinghpur. Due to unsuitability and unsafety it functioned in two rooms of A.N High School vide letter No 2461 dt.25.02.2006 and letter no 8885 date-23 .07.1990 of inspector of School ,Cuttack.Then The Govt. S.T. School ,Narasinghpur had functioned in the Hostel building of  A.N High School as per letter No.4D-I-VIII-07-17486 Dt 11.04.07 of Commissioner cum Director Secondary Education with the remarks this arrangement had continued  till permanent building of DIET was constructed and completed on the land identified by the Tahasildar, Narasinghpur at khasara No,580 Plot No.2046,2045,2049.2050 and 2051(2.66 Acre) at Paikapada Patna, Narasinghpur however as per the notification of Govt of Odisha in the department of School & Mass Education , NO XII SME/Trg 28/03-2377/SME & Notification No 10701/SME dt 25.05.2005 Govt S.T School, Narasinghpur was upgraded to District Institute of Education and Training for Cuttack district. Consequent upon upgradation of S.T School, the designation of the Head of Institution was changed i.e instead of Headmaster, S.T School it become Principal, DIET, Cuttack Vide Directorate Letter No 317 dt 22.01.2011 and this institute has got the additional intake capacity of 50 seat total of hundred seated capacity vide Order No.24167 dated 24/02/2014 of NCTE Govt of India.

  • To Promote equity and inclusivity in education.
